Gina Knorr, a lifelong resident of Glenside and co-founder of the Glenside Networking Group, is looking to grow a concept she helped launch in February.
According to Knorr, Glenside Networking Group is made up of local business owners who are looking to connect, refer, and support other community businesses.
“We started with five business-minded residents who were trying to figure out ways to support small businesses,” Knorr, a residential realtor with RE/MAX Keystone in Glenside, said.
The group is now 16 members strong and meets twice a month on Wednesdays at the Knights of Columbus in Glenside.
“Standard networking groups can be intimidating, rule-oriented and expensive. We are a fun group, don’t have many rules and we are very affordable,” she said. “It’s a way to bring people together to learn more about what their neighbors are doing and how to help businesses in the area.”
Knorr said while their focus is businesses that work with referrals, the group has owners of all kinds. Current members include:
- Dave Holt, Triad Tree Care & Landscaping Group
- Gina Knorr, Realtor RE/MAX Keystone
- Tom Mellett, CrossCountry Mortgages
- Vinnie Mountney, Mountney Heating & Air Conditioning
- Laura Haggerty, May Funeral Home
- Chuck Day, Chuck Day Painting, LLC
- Mike McKenna, Jenkintown Electric
- Brian Jones, Revolution Electric, LLC
- Cindy Weyland, Certified Optavia Coach
- Deb Campbell, DC Interiors
- Elizabeth Vahey, Allstate Insurance
- Chris Jud, Raymond James Financial Advisor
- Nicole Schuler, Flowers by Nicole
- Boris Kerzner, Grow Your Own
- Emergink Print & Copy Center
“I think Glenside does a great job of supporting the big storefronts that have been here forever. We want to support the smaller newcomers to the area,” she said.
