Glenside man receives sentence for involuntary manslaughter, neglect in connection with brother’s death

Harry A. Gramlich, 74, of the 200 block of Edge Hill Road in Glenside, is headed to prison for 6-12 months on a charge of involuntary manslaughter and neglect in connection with the 2020 death of his 52-year-old brother, Timothy, who had Down syndrome.

Gramlich’s court case in March found that his conduct was not willful or intentional, and acquitted him of a felony charge of neglect of care of dependent person. He faced a possible maximum sentence of 12.5 to 25 years in prison.

According to The Reporter, he faced a possible maximum prison term of 2.5 to 5 years in the most recent trial.

The judge has ordered Gramlich to complete four years of probation consecutive to parole in addition to the prison term.

In August 2022, Elizabeth Anne Gramlich of Abington Township plead guilty to felony charges that she and her brothers, Harry and Joseph, failed to properly care for their sibling.
