Glenside man facing felony charges for DUI

Brian McGoldrick, 42, of Glenside is facing felony charges for driving intoxicated, crashing head-on into another car and killing an Allentown woman on September 2.

McGoldrick’s charges include homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence of alcohol, aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI, and several other offenses, the Lehigh County district attorney’s office said Thursday.

Officials say he was driving the wrong way on Airport Road in Lehigh County when the incident occurred, and that his blood-alcohol content was more than three times the legal limit to drive.

Catherine Neelon, 55, of Allentown, died at the hospital. She worked in local cable TV production and was driving home after a high school football game.

Court records show McGoldrick was released on $25,000 bail after an arraignment before District Judge Michael D’Amore.

State police and the Lehigh County district attorney’s office investigated the crash.
