Glenside July 4th Bash Break-Down: Map, Agenda, Parking Tips & Prime Viewing Spots

Here’s all you need to know if you plan on attending the Glenside Independence Day Extravaganza.

Schedule of the all-day celebration, map, prime viewing spots and parking tips.

10:00 AM to 12:30 PM: Children’s Morning Program held at Renninger Memorial Park in Cheltenham Township. The patriotic gala begins with a “We Love America.”The festivities for 2,000 some attendees include decorated bike/stroller/float parades and competitive, award-winning field/sports contests, followed by lunchtime refreshments.

4:00  to 6PM — The Grand, Glorious, Patriotic Parade held on a 1.5-mile stretch through Glenside and takes two plus hours. (see parade route below).   Prime Viewing Spots:

  • St. Luke’s Evangelical Roman Catholic Church at Easton and Fair Hill Avenue.
  • New Life Presbyterian Church at Jenkintown and Easton;
  • The stretch of Easton Road to Keswick Avenue; and the turn at Easton and Waverly Roads.

After Dark: America the Beautiful Aerial Fireworks Spectacular held at Abington Junior and Senior High Schools usually being after 9.  It’s recommended to arrive at least an hour before the start.

The GGPA and Abington Police asks for everyone’s patience after the fireworks so vehicle and pedestrian traffic can exit safely and securely.   It will take up to about 30 minutes to clear out and away from the school.
