Thirty eight year old, Melissa Sue Bonkoski a resident of Glenside, pleaded guilty this week in a Chester County Courtroom to having sexual intercourse with a 16 year old former student of hers.

Bonkoski who previously taught and coached at Owen J. Roberts High School was originally arrested in early August of 2017 for inappropriate contact with the student. Later, on August 29 2017, the teacher was arrested for engaging in sexual relationship with a minor.

Melissa Bonkoski started communicating with the 16 year old male student outside the home. The minor was in her science class at Owen J. Roberts. It later progressed to kissing in Bonkoski’s car after she picked him up from work. The victim thought she would stop giving him rides if he didn’t continue. Melissa Bonkoski at one point, invited the victim to her home and she discussed oral sex with the minor. In December of 2016, the teacher and the minor engaged in sexual intercourse at the teacher’s home.

When the victim tried to break off the relationship, Bonkoski  apparently became obsessed with the student and continued to text him from her “burner” phone which she used in attempt to keep the conversation untraceable. The victim’s girlfriend read the suspicious texts and that is what triggered the investigation according to the District Attorney of Chester County, PA.
