Glenside boy scout to build community seating area at Glenside-Weldon playground in May, seeking GoFundMe donations, volunteers

Liam Riehman-Murphy, a boy scout with Troop 304 in Glenside, will be building a community seating area at the Glenside-Weldon playground on May 17-18 for his Eagle Scout project.

Riehman-Murphy said he chose this spot because Weldon is a highly visible area. He has been working with Krystn Kuckelman of the Glenside Civic Association to maximize community impact.

“Glenside Weldon is a place where I have played baseball for many years and have hung out with friends and family,” he told Glenside Local. “It’s a great place with a nice brand-new playground, and I would like to enhance it even more.”

He is seeking monetary donations to purchase the materials necessary to complete the project, though any donations will be appreciated. Borrowed tools include shovels, rakes, and wheelbarrows. Other needed materials include wood chips, sand, and wood, and volunteers.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the project you can email Riehman-Murphy at liamriehmanmurphy@gmail.com or text (267) 339-8708.
