Glenside boy scout completes community seating area at Glenside-Weldon playground

Liam Riehman-Murphy, a boy scout with Troop 304 in Glenside, has completed a new community seating area at the Glenside-Weldon playground as part of his Eagle Scout Project.

The rising high school senior worked with a group of 25 scouts and volunteers over two days in May after coordinating with Krystn Kuckelman of the Glenside Civic Association to maximize community impact.

In early April, he began seeking donations for the project.

“I would like to thank everyone who donated money to help me with my project. It was a huge success. I would also like to thank Danny Hayes and Bob Hopkins for donating materials and helping out with the logistics of my project. Glenside-Weldon is a great place in our community. I see families, kids, and many others enjoying the park,” he told Glenside Local. “I hope that my seating area can bring the community closer.”
