Glenside Barber Company celebrates three years in business, raffle fundraiser ends May 31

Rodney Maranville, owner of Glenside Barber Company, recently celebrated his third year in business on Saturday, May 20.

“Glenside’s a wonderful community, and we’re glad to be a part of it. Our shop is a relaxed environment with good vibes, good haircuts, and good attitudes,” he said.

This month, the shop has taken part in a fundraiser for Delta Community Supports, a nonprofit organization based in Glenside.

“We’re doing a raffle the whole month of May to bring awareness to the Delta Community Center’s foster program,” Rodney said. “We’ve raised about $2,500 so far. The winner gets free haircuts for the year.”

As for business, Rodney describes it as “bedlam” in the best way.

“When I first opened, roughly 40 percent of my clients came over from my previous shop in Collegeville, and things have expanded since then,” he said. “I’m booked until the beginning of September. We’re trying to fit people in and accommodate as best we can.”

Busy enough to need extra help, Glenside Barber Company is currently seeking an apprentice. If interested, you can email Glensidebarber@gmail.com or stop by the shop in person.
