The Glencairn Museum in Bryn Athyn is hosting their annual Sacred Arts Festival on Sunday, April 28 from
1:00pm – 5:00pm.
From the festival’s description:
Experience religious art in the making: witness demonstrators using metal, glass, sand, stone, eggs, and ink to create beautiful expressions of faith.
This event is one of two annual opportunities to self-guide throughout the building, including all galleries, the primary bedroom, and the Tower. While here, visit the temporary exhibition Easter Eggs: Symbols of Rebirth and Renewal and participate in family-friendly activities.
Artist and craft demonstrations include:
- Chanting with Amelia Winger-Bearskin
- Icon writing with Susan Kelly vonMedicus
- Islamic Calligraphy with Dr. Feroz Noori
- Lithuanian Egg Art with Elaine and Carol Luschas
- Metal forging with Warren Holzman and Liz Jackson
- Mosaics with Carol Stirton-Broad
- Sand mandala completion and dismantling with Losang Samten
- Stained glass fabrication with Liz DaCrema
- Stone carving with Grayson Zuber
Culinary treats will be provided by King Gyro, a Halal food truck, which will be on-site all day.
