GGPA selling 4th of July cowbells this weekend, details shared on Little Miss & Mr. Glenside winners

The Greater Glenside Patriotic Association (GGPA) will be selling 4th of July cowbell noisemakers with commemorative T-shirts on Friday in Keswick Village from 6:00-7:00pm and on Saturday from 11:00am-1:00pm in front of O’Neill’s Food Market and at the Glenside Farmers Market.

In related news, the GGPA has shared details about the Little Miss Glenside and Little Mister Glenside contest winners.

From their Facebook post:

The Greater Glenside Patriotic Association is proud to introduce our 2023 Little Mr. and Miss Glenside winners, brother and sister, Jaxon (10) and Vanessa (? Campbell! Officially crowned by older sister and previous nominee, Wynne, Jaxon and Vanessa are the first siblings in parade history to win dual titles. Pretty cool!

We recently sat down with the Campbells to learn a little more about them. Jaxon and Vanessa are busy, witty (as is their whole family!), and sweet, and we had a blast chatting with our newest Glenside royalty.

Jaxon plays baseball and summer basketball, runs track and cross-country, and enjoys going to the pool. He describes himself as athletic (we’d have to agree!). His favorite thing about Glenside is the parade! If Jaxon were to give advice to other kids, it would be to “talk to people and be friendly.”

Vanessa plays field hockey, basketball, and softball, and will be starting soccer soon. She also runs track and loves to be outside with her friends. She would describe herself as funny (again, agreed!). Her favorite thing about Glenside is that “there’s lots of fun things here that everyone can do.” Her advice to other kids is “be kind and don’t annoy people.”

Jaxon and Vanessa are looking forward to mini beach vacations this summer, as well as to travel to Washington, D.C. and Virginia. Both are also participating in St. Luke’s Summer Stock’s production of The Wizard of Oz! Be sure to come support them and the entire cast on August 3rd and 4th at The Keswick Theater.

Congratulations, Jaxon and Vanessa! We can’t wait to see you in the parade!
