Alex Bouchard, a 2021 graduate of Germantown Academy High School in Fort Washington, was selected by the Boston Red Sox as the 417th overall pick in the 14th round of the Major League Baseball Draft on Tuesday, July 16.
Bouchard, a right-handed pitcher, spent his freshman season at Dickinson College before transferring to Lehigh University. In his single season at Dickinson, Bouchard went 4-0 with a 3.42 ERA and a 10.65 K/9 in 10 relief appearances.


In the classroom, he was a two-semester Dean’s List honoree at Dickinson with a 3.96 GPA, finishing in the top six percent of his class.
He was a three-year varsity letterman for the Patriots, starting all 23 games in the infield during the 2021 campaign and finishing in the top two in every offensive category.
