Weldon Field saw six teams take part in Gerhard’s Second Annual Summer Slam baseball tournament on Wednesday, September 2.

The charity event benefits New Life Food Cupboard and invites community members ages 10+ to participate.

Kathryn Gerhard told Glenside Local that food was provided by Clean Plate Food Truck and Stewart’s Water Ice.

“It was the perfect way to wrap up the summer — bringing friends, families, teammates, and neighbors together for a night of softball, good food, dessert, music, and giving back to the community,” Gerhard said.

Event sponsors included Weldon Fire Company, Oneil’s Food Market, Rooster’s, Humpy Dumplings, Penny’s Flowers, Johnny Cool’s Barber Shop, and Minute Man Press. Dlivrd Difference donated food and help as well.

All food donations were taken to New Life Food Cupboard after the event.
