Gamburg’s Furniture to close this fall after 94 years

Gamburg’s Furniture has announced that it will be closing after 94 years at 101 S York Road, Hatboro, just outside of Upper Moreland Township.

The store first announced its closure on Facebook in August. The curtain call is expected sometime this fall, though an official last day has not been announced and the property has not been sold.

According to Philly Burbs, the store was once a Civil War-era gas stove factory before the family converted the property into a furniture outlet, and a manager said that Sid and Joyce Gamburg, third-generation owners, want to retire and no one in the family wants to take over.
