Freed-Givnish Life Celebration Home hosts Halloween Safety Night for Glenside youth

The Freed-Givnish Life Celebration Home of Glenside hosted a Halloween Safety Night on Sunday, October 25.

The event included the Weldon Fire Company and the Abington Township Police Department, both of whom discussed safe approaches to the holiday. Freed-Givnish gave away decorations, food, flashlights and safety devices to participants.

“St. Luke’s was having their Halloween party at the same time, so we had a grill going. It’s become a joint affair over the past couple years,” John Givnish said. “It’s neat to watch the fire and police departments interact with the kids. Their eyes light up. It’s good community involvement, and I think that’s part of what makes Glenside so unique. We have that hometown feel.”

“It was a great event filled with valuable information to help parents and children stay safe this Halloween,” Abington police said in a post. “Thank you to Freed-Givnish for hosting such an educational and engaging event for our community!”
