The former Smoothie King property at 100 York Road in Jenkintown has seen better days.

The location, which opened in 2023, began to falter over the winter. Ownership declared the business to be closed in early February, then decided to reopen days later.

Borough manager George Locke told Glenside Local the property was sold at auction to Hammer Investment Corp. for $80,937 after permanently closing in late February.

Since then, the property has been increasingly in disrepair.

“From what I understand, there’s some type of appeal. I was told that a company from Wyncote purchased it,” Locke said in mid-September. “We’re constantly on them. We just cited them and told them we’re going to bring in a landscaper if they don’t fix up the property.”

Locke said a landscaper cleaned up some of the overgrowth last week. The photos above below were taken today:
