The 1984-85 Penn State Ogontz men’s basketball team celebrated the 40th anniversary of their Commonwealth Campus Athletic Conference championship at a halftime ceremony during the men’s basketball game against Cairn University on Saturday, January 4 at the Abington Athletic Building.
Now known as Penn State Abington, the team finished 27-3 overall, including 11-1 in conference play. The 27 victories are still the most in a single season in program history, the university said.
“Guided by legendary head coach Dick Wiseman, the Nittany Lions capped the season as Commonwealth Campus Athletic Conference champions,” the university said. “Wiseman is the program’s all-time winningest coach with 152 victories.”
