The stone Tudor-style home at 1106 Devon Road in Jenkintown is up for sale for $1.05 million. It spans 4,454 square feet and includes four bedrooms and five bathrooms.
Nicknamed “Devon Wood”, the property was originally built during the Great Depression for Annabel and Henry Ortlieb, who took over Ortlieb’s Brewing in 1893, the Philadelphia Business Journal reported. The Ortliebs lived there for 27 years and their children’s fingerprints are still imprinted in the home’s breakfast room, according to a written history provided by the home’s current owners, Donna and Ira Spector.
Ira Spector is CEO and co-founder of Jenkintown-based SFA Therapeutics on Old York Road.
The Spectors have lived in the home since 2014 and are selling to spend more time in Florida, the Journal said.

From the Journal’s coverage:
The Ortlieb family owned and operated the Northern Liberties brewery for over 100 years. The brewery was bought by Schmidt’s Brewing in 1981, another iconic Philadelphia-born beer brand until it ceased operations in 1987. Today, Ortlieb’s bar sits on North 3rd Street in Northern Liberties. The building housing Ortlieb’s brewing operations on North 3rd Street was demolished a decade ago to make room for a residential building.
