Former Bacio Italian Cucina in Glenside has pending liquor license

The location of the former Bacio Italian Cucina in the Glenside section of Springfield Township has a pending liquor license with the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB).

The application was filed in December 2024 on behalf of an entity called BACK PORCH HOSPITALITY LLC, which is managed by Christopher Ridenhour.

Springfield’s manager Michael Taylor told Glenside Local that the township’s code enforcement department has nothing on file in terms of the site’s renovations.

“I was not aware of the current license application but there had been a PA limited winery license issued to the previous operator and I assumed it transferred to Bacio when it took over,” Taylor said in an email.

Bacio’s permanently closed in 2024 after opening the Glenside location in 2018. The restaurant’s Facebook page is still live, though the website is not.

Bacio’s in its heyday

The Springfield Township Historical Society shared a 1940s-era photo below of 700 Bethlehem Pike. A caption reads:

This establishment was known in the 1940s as Dudley’s Place and later became Fingers Restaurant and Piano Bar. Originally built in the mid-1800s, the well-known slogan of Dudley’s Place while owned and operated by C. Dudley Snyder, was ‘the customer is never right.’

We will be in touch as we learn more about the location’s plans.
