The National Weather Service (NWS) has updated its forecast from a Winter Storm Watch to a Winter Storm Warning in greater Glenside and surrounding areas, beginning 7:00am Sunday to 6:00pm on Monday.

According to their latest briefing, 10-16 inches of snow is possible as “confidence continues to increase in significant snow accumulations Sunday through Monday,” the NWS said in a post.

Officials from Cheltenham Township, Rockledge Borough, Abington Township, Hatboro Borough, and Springfield Township have issued cautionary statements regarding the forecast.

Mostly sunny, with a high near 46. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight

A chance of rain, mainly after 3am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 31. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Sunday

Snow, possibly mixed with rain, becoming all snow after 4pm. High near 36. East wind 5 to 10 mph increasing to 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Sunday Night

Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Patchy blowing snow. Low around 28. Blustery, with a northeast wind 15 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 6 to 10 inches possible.

Monday

Snow likely, mainly before 1pm. Patchy blowing snow before 4pm. Cloudy, with a high near 36. Breezy, with a northwest wind 15 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Monday Night

Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23.
