Flourtown, Fort Washington fire companies assist with afternoon car fire in Plymouth Meeting

The Flourtown and Fort Washington fire companies assisted Barren Hill Volunteer Fire Company with a car fire at the 400 block of Stenton Avenue in Plymouth Meeting on the afternoon of Friday, February 14.

The call was upgraded to a building fire response by Montgomery County dispatch due to the vehicle’s proximity to a building, officials said.

“Engine 6 arrived as the first due engine with a crew of 8,” Flourtown Fire Company said in a post. “The engine crew quickly deployed 2-1 3/4” handlines to attack the well-involved car. As other companies arrived, the building was checked for extension and ventilated.”

The building was undamaged, the post said.
