First annual Jenkintown Pickle Pub Crawl releases map, current vendor lineup, details

The first-ever Pickle Pub Crawl is coming to Jenkintown on Saturday, July 13 from 11:30am to 6:00pm.

The day will include a Pickle Eating Contest in Town Square, Pickle Playoffs at each establishment with prizes and medals, as well as a pickle-themed photo booth. The first half of the event will feature live music by Rainy Daze Band followed by Laura Jean from Bitchfork and Joe Hartnett from Camera Thief.

A Relish Eating Contest for adults will take place after the pub crawl. From the contest’s description:

Contestants will have to finish 10oz. of Relish, provided by the Talented PickleDude of Philadelphia. Contestants will have one hand behind their backs. With a tiny spoon they will need to finish all the Relish with a straight back and minimal spillage. The first player from both rounds will be selected to participate in the final contest where the ultimate skilled pickle loving relish slurping winner will be selected.

“We love hosting free adult-centric events with a small town feel that promote local businesses and stimulate the local economy,” the event’s lead organizer, Melissa Hager, owner of the Keep Easy Meadery in Jenkintown, said.

The first annual Festivus Cocktail Crawl in December was a brainchild of Hager’s as well.
