Fire chiefs Kevin and Ken Lynch featured in The Inquirer’s story on sibling rivalry

Twin brothers and pillars of the greater Glenside community Kevin and Ken Lynch were recently featured in a Philadelphia Inquirer article honoring the sometimes coarse dialogue that denotes sibling rivalry.

Kevin, chief of the LaMott Fire Company in Cheltenham Township, and Ken, chief of the Independent Fire Company in Jenkintown, were juxtaposed with the Kelce brothers, one of whom stars for the Philadelphia Eagles, and both of whom will appear in the Super Bowl this Sunday.

The article describes the Lynches in competition with one another as early as age 16, battling to be the first one in the truck when the fire alarm sounded, and how their competitive traditions have stayed the course as adults.

The Lynch twins have another brother, Scott, who has served as Fire Marshal of Cheltenham Township since 2019. Scott is also a member of the Cheltenham Hook and Ladder company where their father Ed was once chief.
