Please join us for “Ropsley, A Country Estate,” the first lecture of the spring portion of the Old York Road Historical Society 2021-2022 Lecture Series. Ropsley, also known as the “Poe House,” was constructed for Francis S. and Marie L. McIlhenny in 1916 on four acres in Wyndmoor. The property, chosen for its picturesque views of the Whitemarsh Valley, also incorporated many gardens which the home was designed to showcase. In this presentation, Ed Zwicker III will discuss the development of the property by various owners and take us on a virtual tour using the original floor plans and photographs. Lectures are FREE and open to the public. Abington Friends Meeting, The Barnes Room, 520 Meetinghouse Road, Jenkintown *Masks ARE required to attend and there will be NO refreshments following the lecture. The lecture series is sponsored by a grant from the Jenkinstown Lyceum. For more information please call the Old York Road Historical Society at 215–886–8590 or email us at email@example.com.
