Join artists Brenda Howell and Rebecca Schultz for an "walk and talk" about their interactive site-specific installation Walk the Green Path. This piece was created to offer the community a space of contemplation and healing by experiencing High School Park’s native plant meadow from within. We invite you to walk the path through the meadow, experiencing its sites, sounds, and smells. Along the way you will encounter groups of native plants that are used by the Lenape for medicinal purposes. The Lenape are the original inhabitants of this land, harvesting the plants in this region in ways that honored the balance of native ecosystems and acknowledged their place in an interconnected web of life. We hope that this installation inspires you to reflect on the many ways that plants sustain and heal us and to “walk a greener path” towards sustainability in your daily life.
