Elkins Park Urban Agribusiness FarmerJawn hosting community market September 3

FarmerJawn Community Greenhouses of Elkins Park will host its first annual Autumn Community Market in West Mount Airy on Saturday, September 3 from 12:00pm to 6:00pm.

The event will take place at FarmerJawn Greenery, 6730 Germantown Avenue. The market is free to attend with prior registration and will feature live music, food, face painting, plants, and a variety of local vendors selling sustainable goods.

A free plant workshop will take place at 3:00pm to provide the education that FarmerJawn has become known for. The nonprofit focuses on teaching people to be passionate about growing and accessing nutritious food, to be more mindful about what consumers are putting in their bodies, and how to integrate agriculture into everyday life.

FarmerJawn is community-supported agriculture (CSA) grower established in 2020 by Christa Barfield, whose concern for the area’s underfed communities was an impetus.
