The Elkins Park Skywatchers will host a watch party for the return of Artemis II at 7:00pm on Friday, April 10 at Creekside Market and Tap (Cheltenham Township).
The mission is scheduled to return to Earth with a splashdown in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of San Diego, California, at approximately 8:07pm EDT. Skywatchers’ co-founder Hector Ybe told Glenside Local that a screening of the film “Small Town Universe” will take place after the landing.
Dozens gathered at Creekside Market and Tap to watch the launch of the Artemis II rocket on April 1. Skywatchers’ watch party was featured by five different news stations, including The Associated Press.
“Thank you so much to all the amazing members who came out and made our Artemis II Watch Party such a huge success. The energy, the excitement, and the sense of community were truly something special. We had an absolute blast,” Ybe said.
6ABC shared today NASA’s first photos from the Artemis II crew’s lunar flyby, including an image of Earth (above).
