Elkins Park School student dies from drowning accident, GoFundMe launched

Emilio Tarr, a sixth-grade student at Elkins Park School in the Cheltenham School District, passed away on Tuesday, September 17 at 1:13pm, according to his mother, Elaina Tarr.

Tarr was involved in a drowning accident while swimming with friends on Sunday, September 1. He was rushed to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s Intensive Care Unit following the accident.

A GoFundMe campaign was launched prior to his passing to help his family cope with hospital finances. From the description:

On Sunday, September 1st, our beloved Emilio suffered a tragic drowning accident while swimming with friends. He was rushed to the ICU, where he continues to fight for his life with every breath. Emilio is a strong, vibrant young man, and we are holding onto hope as he battles through this unimaginable ordeal.

As a family, we are facing not only the emotional toll of this crisis but also the overwhelming financial burden that comes with it. The expenses are mounting, and we humbly ask for your support to help us stay afloat during this critical time.
