Elkins Park man charged with filming sex acts with minor has been sentenced 7-15 years

Joshua Warner, 26, of the 7700 block of Union Avenue in Elkins Park, was sentenced to 7 to 15 years in prison for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in Upper Moreland and Horsham locations between November 2022 and May 2023, Mainline Media News reported today.

According to the story, Warner met the victim online, communicated with her through a social media platform called Discord, and filmed at least one of the incidents.

Warner pleaded guilty to statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, sex abuse of children and unlawful contact with a minor. He was ordered to complete three years of probation consecutive to parole and will be placed under sex offender supervision, meaning he will have to report his address to state police for a lifetime, Mainline Media said. Warner was also ordered to have no contact with the victim or her family and is prohibited from having unsupervised contact with minors.

An investigation by the Office of Attorney General and the Upper Moreland Township Police Department in June 2023 found that Warner arranged a meeting with the victim and engaged in unlawful sex acts with her, knowing she was 14.

Further investigation of Warner’s cell phone revealed that he had recorded the crimes and saved video to his cell phone.
