Eric Asta, a member of the Elkins Park Fire Company (Cheltenham Township), recently swore in as Captain of the outfit.

According to the company, Captain Asta started his career as a junior firefighter in Elkins Park. He is pictured above next to his grandfather, a lifetime member of the company.

“We have been so proud to see his growth into a driven firefighter and officer over the past 5+ years,” the company said in a post.

Earlier this month, Derek Wiley (pictured above), the company’s assistant engineer, graduated from an EMT program.

“He pours his heart into helping the firehouse as our Assistant Engineer, and with this new certification will be pouring himself into helping others in great new ways as an EMT,” the company said in a post.
