Elkins Park Fire Company’s Squad 3 was dispatched to a vehicle Fire in the area of Oak Lane Road and Cheltenham Avenue at 2:48pm on Wednesday, April 10.
The squad arrived to find a black Lexus in flames. Crews used powder extinguishers to tamper the spread of gasoline-fueled flames, water, and oil-dry.
An engine from the Philadelphia Fire Department assisted. Public Works was called to address any substance from the incident that may have run into the storm sewer system.
According to the Company’s Facebook post, the fire’s cause was a fuel leak. The driver had exited the vehicle safely prior to firefighters’ arrival.
