Multiple companies respond to early morning house fire in Cheltenham

The Edge Hill Fire Company (Abington Township) and La Mott Fire Company announced that crews responded to a house fire at the 1700 Block of Erlen Road in Cheltenham Township at 5:30am on Sunday, December 28.

“This is a devastating loss for one of our neighbors and we ask that you keep all those affected in your prayers,” the company said in a post, adding that mutual aid came from Cheltenham, Abington, Springfield and Jenkintown fire companies, as well as Cheltenham EMS, Cheltenham police, multiple Fire Marshals, and the Red Cross.

“Great work by all of the initial arriving units who operated on scene. Teamwork and training make all the difference during incidents like these,” Edge Hill Fire Company said in a post. “Please take a moment to check your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms to ensure they are working properly. These simple devices save lives.”
