Come and explore the art of drumming — an ancient form of connection that unites rhythm, heart, and spirit. Join us on Friday, October 24th, for a family-friendly evening where all are welcome to gather, play, and release the week’s stress through sound and movement.
In this open community circle, you’ll be guided to connect to your heart and drum to the beat of it, allowing rhythm to awaken your body’s natural flow. Whether you’re new to drumming or experienced, this night invites you to let go and find your own unique pulse within the collective beat.
We’ll have a variety of drums and instruments available to use. Suggested donation: $10.00 — and if you feel called to give more, your generosity directly supports our community impact initiatives.
“We do this for our community because music is deeply healing — it’s our way of giving back something that everyone can do,” says Ava Adames, founder of Violets in Bloom. “The beat connects us all. It’s not about perfection — it’s about presence.”
Your donations help Violets in Bloom continue giving to Yoga 4 Philly, the PA Conservation, and the international creative healing organization Harambee Arts, as well as supporting local artists, creatives, and entrepreneurs.
Ava shares that her drum doula & mentor, creative artist, writer and producer Karen Smith, has been a guiding influence by holding past monthly Sunday drum circles at Violets in Bloom. This upcoming event marks Ava’s first solo drum circle without Karen’s presence — a powerful step in continuing the rhythm of community healing that Karen helped inspire. Ava states “We’re not losing Karen, as she will be making guests appearances at the studio every so often, so we will continue to enjoy listening to the beat of her magic fingers!” “We ask you to join us for this joyful, grounding, and heart-expanding night. Together, let’s drum to connect and play as a community.”
