John C. Spangler, 45, of the 3200 block of Susquehanna Road in Dresher (Upper Dublin Township), was sentenced to 14 to 28 months in prison on charges of child pornography possession, The Reporter said.

Spangler pleaded guilty to a felony charge in connection with incidents that occurred between 2023 and 2024. He must complete four years of probation following his release, and faces a 15-year requirement to report his address to state police in order to comply with Pennsylvania’s Sexual Offender Registration and Notification Act, according to The Reporter.

An investigation began in September 2023 when Middletown Township police (Bucks County) downloaded child sexual abuse material from an internet address linked to an Upper Dublin residence. Detectives linked an electronic device to an internet address used by Spangler.

On February 15, 2024, detectives executed a search warrant at Spangler’s address, during which 24 storage devices were seized. The devices had 143 thumbnails and thumbnail sheets of videos depicting children under the age of 18 in various stages of undress and engaging in sexual acts, The Reporter said.
