Dr. Willette Jones of Elkins Park included in Marquis Who’s Who in America database

Dr. Willette Jones of Elkins Park has been included in Marquis Who’s Who in America, a database which “documents the lives of the most accomplished individuals and innovators from every significant field of endeavor, including politics, business, medicine, law, education, art, religion and entertainment,” according to their press release.

Individuals were selected on the basis of noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field, the press release said.

Backed by years of educational experience, Dr. Jones excels as a contributing faculty member in the MSED and EdS program, Virtual University Supervisor, and as a Postdoctoral Fellowship Coach with Walden University’s Richard W. Riley College of Education and Human Sciences. In this capacity, she teaches online courses, conducts research in educational leadership, and provides guidance and support to BSEE students, and Postdoctororal Fellows. Previously, Dr. Jones lent her considerable knowledge to The School District of Philadelphia as a school principal, professional development facilitator, curriculum speacialist, and administrator in various leadership positions.

During the early stages of her career, Dr. Jones gained valuable educational expertise in special and elementary education and educational administration through various teaching and leadership positions with the The School District of Philadelphia. Dr. Jones has also contributed a case study included in “Ethical Educational Leadership in Turbulent Times,” through Rutledge, Taylor, and Frances Group in 2013.

An expert in her field, Dr. Jones earned a Bachelor of Social Work from Temple University in 1977. Subsequently, she expanded her professional knowledge by completing a Master of Education in special education from Antioch University, an EdD in administration leadership for teaching and learning, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship through Walden University. Additionally, Dr. Jones received a principal certification in school administration with honors from Cheyney University of Pennsylvania and a Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility from Temple University.

Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Dr. Jones aligns herself with the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and Phi Delta Kappa. In conjunction with her work, she also contributed to her community as a Porter’s Day Care board member. Given her outstanding achievements, she has been inducted into the Golden Key International Honor Society. For her dedication to educational excellence, Dr. Jones also won the Rose Lindenbaum Improvement of Education Award from the School District of Philadelphia and the First-in Math Principal of the Year Award through Suntex First-in Math.

While her career has been filled with highlights, Dr. Jones takes the most pride in helping other educators enhance their teaching skills and advancing in their educational careers. Though hard work and dedication have brought her far in her career, she credits her success to her respect and enthusiasm for teaching and her dedication to professional development. Looking forward, Dr. Jones intends to travel more, become more involved in her grandchildren’s education, and significantly contribute to Walden University while maintaining her commitment to lifelong learning.
