With nearly two decades of experience as a teacher and educational administrator, Dr. Rachel Girman has been named Cheltenham School District’s Director of Teaching and Learning pending board approval. The CSD Board of School Directors will act on the administration’s recommendation for Dr. Girman to fill the position at the October legislative board meeting.
Dr. Girman brings a wealth of experience in instructional leadership, educational innovation, and collaborative curriculum design. Throughout a distinguished career in education, she has focused on implementing data-informed instructional practices, integrating modern learning technologies, and closing achievement gaps to ensure equitable outcomes for all students.
In this role, Dr. Girman will oversee curriculum development, instructional strategy, and professional development across the institution to foster learning environments that support student achievement and educator growth. Dr. Girman will work closely with school administrators, department heads, and teachers to align learning goals, refine assessment systems, and design tailored professional learning initiatives.
Dr. Girman has served as the supervisor of secondary curriculum at CSD since 2023 and also serves as an adjunct professor at Moravian University. Dr. Girman’s previous teaching experience was at Quakertown Community School District, where she served as a K-12 instructional coach from 2019-2023. In that role, Dr. Girman managed and maintained the LinkIt data management platform to build student data files, as well as trained district administrators to develop grouping and data analysis models. Prior to being an instructional coach, Dr. Girman was a high school English teacher for 14 years.
A resident of Ambler, Dr. Girman earned her doctorate of education in transformational leadership this summer from Moravian University. She received her master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Penn State University. She was an English and comparative literature double major as an undergraduate at Penn State University. She also earned an education technology certificate from Boise State University.
