Last Thursday saw 11 candidates from the Cheltenham Township Fire Department graduate with their Firefighter 1 certification during a ceremony at Edge Hill Fire Company. 

The Firefighter 1 course consists of 188 hours of education and hands-on training. The Township’s volunteer fire department includes four companies: Glenside, La Mott, Elkins Park, and Cheltenham.
