Crush Crew Jiu Jitsu, located at 1521 Bethlehem Pike in Flourtown (Springfield Township), is hosting a free self-defense seminar on Saturday, March 2 from 5:00pm – 6:30pm.

Owner Omar Cruickshank said the seminar drew over 50 participants during last year’s trial run.

“Everything went really well last year. We had females from age 12 up to senior citizens. We’re hoping to teach them to keep themselves and their communities safe in the Crush Crew way,” Cruickshank told Glenside Local. “We teach things that girls and women can use immediately. They’ll learn a few techniques, including how to get away if a man grabs you unexpectedly. You don’t have to be strong or an experienced fighter to learn to protect yourself, and no sign up is needed.”
