Firefighters respond to Philmont Country Club in Huntingdon Valley

Update: Glenside Local was provided the following statement from Philmont Country Club:

“Monday morning, some smoke was observed in the mulch outside of Philmont Country Club. Out of an abundance of caution and safety, Philmont staff contacted the local fire department. Thankfully, there was no damage to the club and no injuries reported.”

A spokesperson for the club said firefighters found only a hot water pipe when they looked behind the wall.

Fetters Mill Fire Rescue announced that crews were dispatched earlier today to the Philmont Country Club (301 Tomlinson Road, Huntingdon Valley) for a reported building fire.

Firefighters found smoke in the building’s basement but no visible fire. Thermal imaging cameras identified a hidden fire within a deep crawlspace along an exterior wall and smoldering fire extension through the exterior wall and into the building.

“Firefighters quickly accessed and extinguished the concealed fire, preventing further extension and limiting damage to the structure,” the post said.

The scene was turned over to the Lower Moreland Township Fire Marshal’s Office for investigation. No injuries were reported.

The following outfits provided mutual aid:

• Second Alarmer’s Rescue Squad
• Lower Southampton Fire Company
• Warminster Fire Department
