County hospitals report that there are 55 patients due to Coronavirus. This is down from approximately 400 at peak

Montgomery County officials have reported that there were 40 cases of Coronavirus on July 21st and 59 on July 22nd. County Commissioner Dr. Val Arkoosh clarified that the July 22nd number involved tests taken over a broad period of time and a lag in receiving back results contributed to a higher number for this one day. The total number of countywide cases since the start of the pandemic is now 9,150.

No new confirmed deaths were reported for these two dates. The total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic remains at 817. There have been 17 deaths reported in July.

The county’s hospitals report that there are 55 patients being treated for Coronavirus with 21% requiring a ventilator.

It was also reported that positive cases in long-term care facilities now average one per day.
