Congresswoman Madeleine Dean, whose offices are in Glenside, has been appointed to the U.S. House Committee on Appropriations for the 119th Congress and her fourth term as representative of Pennsylvania’s Fourth Congressional District.
“I’m grateful to our Steering and Policy Committee for enabling me to serve on the Appropriations Committee this term — although we remain in the minority, I am determined to work alongside all my colleagues to fund the government in a way that works best for the American people,” Rep. Dean said. “Over the next two years, I pledge to serve as a strong voice for Pennsylvania during this crucial process.”
The Appropriations Committee is responsible for crafting legislation that determines how taxpayer dollars are allocated to fund government agencies, programs, and operations. In doing so, the committee plays a critical role in overseeing funding for essential areas such as defense, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and more.
