Concordance Ferments, a forthcoming brewpub at 18 Horsham Road in Hatboro, is hoping to open sometime next month.
Co-owners Dave Sakolsky and Abe Goldstein said the name is derived from an initial conversation between them as they brainstormed for the project.
“Dave and I have been friends for 10-15 years and we have similar things that we love about the industry,” Abe told Glenside Local. “When he came to me about starting this up, we started bouncing ideas off of each other, and ‘Concordance’ represents a coalescence of those ideas.”

The project has included a complete overhaul of the old Pennypack Mill, a historical building located on the Pennypack Creek and the oldest standing building in Hatboro.
“The partners are redoing the whole space,” mayor Tim Schultz told Glenside Local. “That’ll make three breweries in town.”
“Progress is going great. We have our first few brew days under our belt, and a bunch of list items to get through soon,” Abe said. “We’re thinking we’re roughly a month out once we get through the last of the hurdles. September is our goal. We can’t promise anything, but that’s what we’re hoping for.”

Ownership emphasized their food options in addition to their homemade beer.
“We have a great chef and a full menu coming. It’ll be really great for the area. The people who live around here are going to love it,” Abe said. It’s a beautiful location and we’re hoping to live up to it.”
