Chili Cook-off returns to Jenkintown

Not since 2019 has the savory, spicy smells of homemade chili graced the Town Square of Jenkintown. The Jenkintown Chili Cook-off is returning this year on Sunday, November 7th, as part of what the Jenkintown Recreation Board is calling their “FALL JAWN”

From 12 pm to 3 pm, the Rec Board is combining the Scare on the Square (Halloween costumes, games and candy), Chili Cook-off and the Pumpkin Drop into one afternoon of fun. In years past before COVID-19, these were three separate events.

The Rec Board is asking for some volunteers for the Chili Cook-off portion of the day (11:00-1:30ish) and some volunteers to plan and man some games for the Scare on the Square portion. Pumpkin drop is covered by the Independent Fire Company.

You can find all the rules of the chili cook off here. If you’d like to get involved or enter the chili cook off, click here. If you have any questions, you can Pam Mohr Lynch at recreationboard@gmail.com.
