Cheltenham’s 2026 homecoming to feature a soccer game and a staff vs. students flag football game

Cheltenham High School’s 2026 homecoming game will be a boys’ soccer game on Friday, October 16, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

The Panthers will play Academy Park in the school’s new $13.4 million football stadium at 7:00pm. The homecoming court will be recognized at halftime, and the girls’ varsity soccer and volleyball teams will each play earlier that evening.

The school is also adding a staff versus students flag football game before the soccer match. School officials will hold an official ribbon-cutting for the stadium in the afternoon before other homecoming festivities, The Inquirer said.

Cheltenham High School’s football season was suspended last October and canceled a month later. In late July, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office and Cheltenham Township Acting Police Chief Richard Schaffer announced charges against numerous Cheltenham High School football players and coaches.

In September, a former member of Cheltenham High School’s football team testified during a preliminary hearing in Jenkintown that he was a sophomore when he was assaulted after football practice.
