Jordan Sowell, a senior member of Cheltenham High School’s track and field team, has been nominated for MileSplitUSA’s National Boys Performer of the Week.

Already the top triple jumper in the nation, Sowell picked up his third win of the season, winning his best event at the TFCAofGP Meet of Champions with a mark of 48-9.75. So far, Sowell is one of just three athletes with a better past 49-0, and the only one to surpass 51 feet.

In related news, Adora Abdul, a sophomore violinist at CHS, has qualified for the Region VI Orchestra Festival following District 11 re-auditions at Harriton High School in Lower Merion.
The regional festival will be held at CB West High School March 21-23.
The PMEA District 11 comprises all levels of public, private, parochial, college and university, as well as retired music educators, administrators and music industry representatives from throughout Bucks and Montgomery Counties. The organization aims to advance the study of music education throughout the commonwealth and encourage excellence in the study and teaching of music.
