Cheltenham track & field takes home two golds, two broken records | Male and female members nominated for MileSplitPA’s Athlete of the Week, voting now open

Amirah Nesmith, a junior on the Cheltenham High School track and field team, broke two school records and won two gold medals at the Ocean Breeze Invitational (Staten Island, NY) over the weekend.

Nesmith won the 55M in a school record seven seconds and took home the 200M with a school record 24.20.

Following her performances, Nesmith has been nominated for MileSplitPA’s Female Athlete of the Week. She started with 7.00 seconds in the 55-meter dash and continued in the 200-meter dash with 24.20 seconds, which is the best time this season in PA.

At the same event, Khloe Saintable won the freshman 55M hurdles and the freshman shot put, Willa Chaney took home the bronze medal in the sophomore 800M, Noriana Huynh finished fifth in the freshman 800m, and the 4x200M relay of Jadesola Turton, Kendall Nelson, Amira Banks, and Emma Ravenell finished sixth.

Following a third-place finish in the pentathlon with 3,361 points at the event, Nathan Hoffman has also been nominated for MileSplitPA’s Male Athlete of the Week.

Hoffman hit marks of 2:46.41 in the 1000-meter, 9.55 in the 60-meter hurdles, 19-9 feet in the long jump, 37-10.75 feet in the shot put, and 6-4.75 feet in the high jump.
