Cheltenham Township Sergeant Becomes Chief of Police in North Wales

For the second time this year, one of Cheltenham Township Police Department’s  Sergeants was selected to take the position of Chief of Police in a neighboring community.

Sergeant Michael “Tin Man” Eves will be the new Police Chief of North Wales Borough. Sergeant Eves last day at the Cheltenham Township Police Department (CTPD) was Wednesday, September 26th.  Sergeant Eves spent the last 27+ years with the CTPD working his way from patrol officer to Corporal, to Sergeant.

In Sergeant Eves’ last post at CTPD he oversaw the Detective Division, prior to that he was the Accreditation Manager. As Accreditation Manager he earned CTPD’s first PLEAC (Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission) certification, which was not an easy task, according to CTPD.

Sergeant Eves also worked as a firearms instructor, a training supervisor and spent 10 years as a SWAT officer. “So please join all of us here in wishing Tin Man congratulations on his retirement from CTPD and his new position at North Wales PD. He will be missed by all of us here. Good luck Tin,” from a CTPD Facebook post.
