Cheltenham Township public hearing to discuss 3-story mixed-used building proposal along Glenside Ave. on Dec. 8

The joint properties located at 29, 35, 105, and 115 E Glenside Avenue (Tract 1) and 118, 120, 124, and 126 E Glenside Avenue (Tract 2) in Glenside will be discussed during the Cheltenham Township Zoning Hearing Board Public Hearing on Monday, December 8.

According to the meeting’s agenda, an applicant named John McShea is seeking variances to allow for an extension of the zoning relief granted previously for Tract 1 and for the construction of a three-story mixed-use building.

The mixed-use building calls for a retail/office on the first floor, 20 dwellings units on the second and third floors, with 29 off-street parking spaces.

Plans for the properties have been under review since 2022 when property owner Brian Regli proposed the demolition of parcels located at 29, 35, 105 and 115 E Glenside Avenue, and the construction of a single building in their place.

Henry Sekawungu, Cheltenham Township’s director of zoning, previously told Glenside Local that the applicant was granted an extension by the Zoning Hearing Board in 2023 and has until December 2026 to submit land development plans.
