Cheltenham Township Police Officer helps deer in distress

The Cheltenham Township Police Department post a story on their Facebook about one of their officers helping a deer in need.

It seems a fawn fell down a window well on Fairview Road and Sgt. Murphy helped a fawn that fell down a window well on Fairview Rd. A neighbor heard the fawn yelling and called the station. After the fawn was checked over, it was placed where it’s mother was most likely to find it.

Although this fawn did need assistance, the Cheltenham PD advises that if you see baby animals, you should leave them alone. Odds are, their parents are nearby. However, if you see a baby animal in the same spot for 24 hours, you should call the station on the non-emergency line: 215-887-1000
