Cheltenham to begin multi-street resurfacing project on Sept 16

Cheltenham Township announced today that a multi-street resurfacing project will begin on Monday, September 16. Each street will be milled, with paving to begin approximately a week after the milling is complete. 

Work will be performed between the hours of 7:30am and 4:30pm. Officials noted that streets will be posted with “NO PARKING” signs a minimum of 24 hours in advance. 

The following streets are scheduled for milling and paving:

  • Plymouth Road (Winding Way to Laverock Road)
  • Panther Road (Church Road to Rices Mill Road)
  • North Avenue (Paxson Avenue to Glenside Avenue)
  • Paxson Avenue (South Avenue to North Avenue)
  • North Bent Road (Hewett Road to Greenwood Avenue)
  • Hemlock Road (Crescent Avenue to Cul-de-sac)
  • Kent Road (Bent Road to Heacock Lane)
  • Wagner Way (John Russell Circle to Mather Way)
  • Penrose Avenue (Cheltenham Avenue to Beech Avenue)
  • Spring Avenue (Old York Road to Elkins Avenue)
  • Elkins Avenue (Old York Road to Spring Avenue)
  • High School Road (Church Road to Montgomery Avenue)
  • Ash Road (Barclay Circle to New Second Street)
  • Barclay Circle (Oak Lane Road to Oak Lane Road)
  • Wessel Way (Wetherill Road to 120′ south)
  • Jenkintown Road (Tookany Creek Parkway to Ashbourne Road)
  • Tookany Creek Parkway (Ashbourne Road to Ashmead Road)

Weather-permitting, the paving will be complete on all streets by mid-October, officials said.
