Cheltenham senior ties 28-year program record for goals in a game

Chamar Blanchard, a senior member of the Cheltenham High School boys’ soccer team, tied the program’s record on Tuesday for goals scored in a game.

Blanchard knocked five into the net during the Panthers’ 7-3 win over William Tennent, tying 1997 Cheltenham High graduate Nick Zegestowsky’s record set in September 1996.

According to local historian Chuck Langerman, Zegestowsky scored five goals in a 17-0 shutout of Plymouth-Whitemarsh, which remains the program’s record for most goals in a game.

In 2023, Blanchard recorded a hat trick in a 3-0 win over Quakertown to clinch the Panthers’ District I 4A playoff berth for the first time in a decade. He was named All League Second team last season.
